Description: Know more about comparison between Tata Zest and Maruti Swift Dzire at : https://www.cardekho.com/compare/maru... Zest AMT vs Dzire AMT Exteriors: Starting with the looks of Dzire, inverted V shaped smoked headlamps, chrome touch on the grille, sweeping line on the bumper, chrome surrounded on the house of fog lamp, alloy wheels, chrome stripe on rear, black touch on A and B pillar are the features that makes the car look desirable, from almost all the angles. The small boot takes time getting used to your eyes but it isn’t that bad especially when you take a look at the Zest. The rear of the Zest is surely not the best angle to look at it. On the other side, the Zest is a muscular looking car. The clean design and cuts make the car look lively. Sleek chrome in the front furthermore enhances the look of the car. The designers have done a fantastic job with its exteriors that gives it a remarkable look, especially to its front profiles. Interiors: The size of both the cars go hand in hand and there is very less difference between the two. The wheelbase of the Zest is slightly bigger than Dzire, giving more space to the passengers. 3 adults can fit in easily in the Zest, with plenty of headroom and legroom but when it comes to Dzire, the space is a little bit of an issue. The Zest diesel AT is available in two versions and feature list includes a touchscreen infotainment system by Harman, Bluetooth connectivity, steering controls, climate control, rear parking sensors etc. That said, the Zest suffers from lack of bottle holders and cup holders or places to keep your knick knacks. The Dzire on the other hand is a better car to live with on a daily basis. True is suffers from space at the back but apart from that, we find no fault with the cabin or the feature list. It even gets a keyless entry and start stop system and multiple places to keep your stuff or bottles or cups. It terms of boot space though, the Dzire offers only 315 litres of luggage space as compared to 390 for the Zest. Engine and Performance: Coming to the power trains both Zest and Dzire have the same FIAT derived 1.3 liter multijet diesel motor – maruti calls it the DDis, tata calls it the Quadrajet. Both the cars also get a 5-speed AMT box. While the Diesel Dzire churns out 74 bhp of maximum power and 190 Nm of maximum torque, the Zest AMT turns out to be more powerful bringing out maximum power of 88.7bhp and also offers more torque at 200 Nm. Outright acc of both the cars is almost similar as the Zest suffers from being a heavier car. That said, the AMT of the Zest turns out to be jerkier in traffic conditions as compared to that of the Maruti. However, once on the move, we like the quieter NVH levels of the Zest which along with a better suspension makes it a more comfortable car. The Dzire hits back by offering better visibility for the driver and is also a better car when it comes to attacking corners. It also offers better fuel economy – the certified figure of the Dzire stands at 26.59kmpl as compared to 21.58 for the Zest AMT. The prices of both the cars are almost same. The top end Zest AT is about 10,000 more expensive than the top end Dzire AMT. Verdict: All-in –all, the tata Zest comes across as well rounded package – it is powerful, rides very well and offers better space and comfort. That said, the Dzire is a better car to drive, offers practical interiors and comes with Maruti’s peace of mind and is the our pick in the comparison.
